AKC Community Canine Class

Enroll in the AKC Community Canine Class with Talk Dog Toledo

You are invited to bring your dog along for a 6-week education course.

Begins July 26^th @ 7:00pm - each class will last approx. one hour.

AKC Community Canine requires a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Community Canine title:

• Dog sits or lies down and waits under control
• Walks on a loose leash in a natural situation (not in a ring) and does not pull
• Walks on a loose leash through a crowd
• Dog walks past distraction dogs present and does not pull
• Sit-stay in small group (three other people with dogs)
• Dog allows person who is carrying something to approach and pet it
• Dog walks by food and follows owner instructions, “Leave it”
• Down or sit stay-distance (owner’s choice)
• Recall (coming when called) with distractions present
• Dog will enter/exit a doorway or passageway with owner and remain under control

The classes are taught by Cheryl Kubista, your local Master Dog Behavioral Therapist and Trainer. The Community Canine education course is aimed at giving you more understanding and control of your dog. The cost is $175 per dog. All dogs must be fully vaccinated and on flea treatments.  PREREQUISITE:  Dogs must have a CGC certificate or title on record with the AKC, and must have an AKC number (AKC registration number, PAL number or AKC Canine Partners number). There is no age limit for dogs taking the AKC Community Canine test.

Walking 101 Class

Walking Dogs 101 with Talk Dog Toledo

You are invited to bring your dog along for a 7-week education. Begins July 26th @ 5:30pm - each class will last approx. one hour.

 Small class of only 6 dogs, so sign up early.

 

Are you struggling walking your dog?   Does your dog pull you down the street?  Do you just want better control over your dog?  This is the class for you!!

Out of control walk

The classes are taught by Cheryl Kubista, your local Master Dog Behavioral Therapist and Trainer. This education course is aimed at giving you more understanding and control of your dog when you are out walking. Your dog should be attentive to your directions.  The cost is $175 per dog. This class is for all dogs a minimum age of 5 months. 

 

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and on flea treatments.  No aggressive dogs permitted.

Canine Good Citizen Class

Enroll in a Canine Good Citizens Class with Talk Dog Toledo

 

 

You are invited to bring your dog along for a 7-week education. Begins July 26th @ 4:30pm - each class will last approx. one hour.

 Small class of only 6 dogs, so sign up early.

This course will cover the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test curriculum:

1-Accepting a Friendly Stranger

2-Sitting Politely for petting

3-Appearance and Grooming

4-Walking on a Loose Leash

5-Walking Through a Crowd

6-Sit and Down/ Stay

7-Coming When Called

8-Reaction to another Dog

9-Reaction to Distractions

10-Supervised Separation

 

The classes are taught by Cheryl Kubista, your local Master Dog Behavioral Therapist and Trainer. This education course is aimed at giving you more understanding and control of your dog. The cost is $175 per dog. This class is for all dogs a minimum age of 5 months.  All dogs must be fully vaccinated and on flea treatments.  No aggressive dogs permitted.  Previous basic obedience skills preferred.  AKC CGC Test will be administered on the last day of training. AKC fees for certificate are $8 or $20 with title.

AKC Star Puppy Class

Enroll in the AKC STAR Puppy Class with Talk Dog Toledo

You are invited to bring your dog along for a 6-week education course. Begins July 26th @ 2:30pm - each class will last approx. one hour.

 Small class of only 6 dogs, so sign up early.

This course will cover the AKC Star puppy program:

 

S*socialization

T*training

A*activity

R*responsibility

 

Including owner behaviors, puppy behaviors and pre-canine good citizen test behaviors.

 

The classes are taught by Cheryl Kubista, your local Master Dog Behavioral Therapist and Trainer. The STAR puppy course is aimed at basic training and socialization with your new puppy. The cost is $160 per dog. STAR puppy classes are for all puppies a maximum age 6 months.  All puppies must be vaccinated and on flea treatments.
